Nearly all bread and baked goods should be avoided in the early stages of a low-carb diet, as well as pasta and rice (though small quantities of brown rice are okay). However, sunflower seed bread would be fine from time to time, and I suggest you try flaxseed bread; both of these are dense, filling and a good source of omega-3. Remember that even these "not-so-bad " breads should be eaten infrequently and in small portions. I disagree, though, with the poster who recommended getting rid of high-carb veggies; it's true that yams have a lot of carbs but they also have Vitamins C and A and carotene, so it's kind of a trade-off. Lots of luck with your diet, I think you'll find it makes you feel much better. |

Why not try whole wheat? I got Pepperidge bread, it is very thin slice, each is around 37 calories since 3 are 110 calories, plus its tasty! Dont restrict carbs, your body needs it youll just mess your body up. |

Well, someone should tell the two above that spam is about as unhealthy as it gets. Get a hearty-grained, innard scraping bread with no high fructose corn syrup for your diet. Just don't eat it. lol = P |

None...no bread, no pasta, only Basmati Rice or wild rice....and stay away from potatoes, carrots, pumpkin and taro. They are all high carb foods and you don't need them in your diet unless you're siome kind of endurance athlete. |
