Question: Can anyone answer my questions about the p90x program and diet?!?
(Posted by: Zoo Yorker on 2010-02-08 05:12:15)
So I'm thinking about ordering the P90X program soon. From what I've heard it is a REALLY good program. But I have a lot of questions. First off, does alternating between weights and resistance bands give better results? Or will it make a difference if I just stick with weights? Also I'm a guy on my high school's cross country team so I'm already in fairly decent shape, but I do have a little noticeable body fat in some bad areas (lower abs, small love handles, thighs, butt) so I was wondering if the P90X program is good at stripping away fat and building definition. I'm a 16 year old guy; I weigh between 145 and 150 pounds; I'm about 5'6 " or 5'7 "; and I run many miles a day. What kind of results do you think I'd get with this program? And how important is it that I use their protein drink? Can I just go get my own? What's a really good protein mix someone would recomend? I also want to hear some of your experiences with the program; good or bad. How important is the whole diet part of it? Is it easy to follow? Is the food expensive? Please just tell me anything you know about it!! Thanks!! |

I bought the P90x program last year in August right before school started again (I'm 16, too, but I'm a girl.) Within two weeks, my stomach was flatter and arms slimmer, too. I felt a bit stronger and I really wish I would've kept going but I had school golf and I got a job so I had no time! To answer your first question, with the program they show resistance bands as being easier, so if you're not ready for weights, you use resistance bands. Once the weights you use get too light because you've gained muscle, you get heavier weights so it's still challenging. P90x will strip away fat if you follow the diet program and it also tones up all those areas so the fat is worn well. I think if you stuck with it and commit you would lose the extra lbs and get ripped. The protein drink is pretty important but I didn't buy mine from the p90x brand, I got the EAS kind from walmart, it's cheap and yummy. It's easy to follow if you have time and you really want to look good and feel good, as long has you have time. Food isn't expensive, it's just normal. You save money because you don't buy any crap, you just get the necessary healthy stuff! |

My buddy is on P90x but has a hard time sticking to the program... NEVER buy someone elses food plans.. there just there to make them money.. grocery stores are pretty easy to find these days.. I go to the gym everyday except weekends.. I ran cross country aswell during high school... the best thing I can recommend is a gym membership or equipment and a good work out buddy... you can target areas you want to fix and some others you want to rock... a habbit takes only weeks to form and a gym life will keep you kickin @$$ and takin names for the rest of your life... there are no quick fixes only determination... |
