Ok this is why starving dont work you stop eating and then one day you will want to eat something and what will happen?! yes you will gain fat again, that's why you need to do exercise and a healthy diet! dont eat anything in the night at least 5 hours before going to bed, if you get hungry just eat a lemon's juice and drink some water and you will loose weight and fat, it works! it just takes time, but you will notice it in 15 days or so! |

Of course if you starve yourself you'll lose weight. But losing pounds doesn't mean you're losing fat. You lose muscle too and you'll look worse than if you eat healthy foods in correct amounts. If you don't get into proper habits now, you'll just lose weight then gain it right back when you start eating again. |

Starving yourself won't work. you body is an engine and it needs fuel. starving yourself will make you cranky, tired and just not happy. and like the previous person said - when you finally eat something your body will go into shock. you body will respond by saying "hey food, we better store this because if she starves herself again we need fuel " do you watch survivor? what happens to the cast when they go for so long without eating? they get tired, have no energy and they become skin and bones right? then when you see them at the reunion party they are all bloated and a little rounder because their bodies are getting used to food again. starving yourself is such a bad idea. you can loose weight the right way it will just take time but you will be creating a healthy lifestyle for yourself. eat 5 meals a day on average between 350-450 calories per meal following a 50% carbs, 30% protein, 20% fat ratio. Translates into 3-4 oz of protein, 1-2 cup of veg, 1/ 2 cup of carbs (brown rice or pasta) |

LISTEN 2 ME!!!!! the reason you lose weight is that your body needs to burn SOMETHING. When u eat, it burns food. If you don't eat it eats away your body. YOUR BODY STARTS EATING ITSELF!! You gain weight because when u DO eat something, your body thinks u wont b eating for a long time, so it stores it as fat, so it can burn it sloooowly. Not eating gets addicting FAST and it gets you so skinny ur like a stick, but ur so addicted, u think ur beautiful. You might say " I wont go that far, I know when to stop, I wont think that " like a bunch of people, including me and I almost DIED! instead of dieting, which never really works to make u healthy, EXERCISE! whats the point of being thin if u have no muscle?do u want to be able to lift ur pencil? Its hard work but it pays off. AND IF UR ACTIVE, YOU STAY THIN LONGER, UR EXTRA HEALTHY AND YOU CAN EAT ALOT WITHOUT GAINING WEIGHT because u work a lot, so ur body needs to burn more, so u can eat all u want! please dont make the same mistake i did! pleaseeee! |

I often try to starve myself. i lose 4 pounds in a week and then go crazy, eat lots and gain it with some more. i've gained almost a stone in a few months trying to lose weight. exercise for 1+ hours four times a week. join classes with friends/ siblings. jogging, cycling to work/ school/ town, swimming, surfing, dancing, aerobics, a martial art, ice-skating, roller-blading, tennis, basketball, go gym, yoga, orienteering, trampolining or garden work example healthy menu~ 4 meals ~for breakfast start with fruit like watermelon, pear, pineapple, kiwi and then wholegrain cereal and low-fat milk or brown toast with topping like beans, egg, peanut butter and banana ~lunch can be a wholemeal sandwich, bagel, roll, wrap with lettuce, tomato, cucumber and either tuna, chopped avocado, mango, hummus, ham or cheese(no butter or mayo) or a pasta, vegetable and tomato sauce dish and if your still peckish a tub of fruit (strawberries, figs, peach, grapes, apricots) or a smoothie ~dinner should be 1/ 4 protein(beans, egg, meat, fish) 1/ 3 carb (jacket potato, brown rice/ pasta) and the rest vegetables(salad, boiled, roasted). eg. pepper, squash and meatballs in tomato sauce on spaghetti, roast beef dinner, baked lemon salmon with boiled potatoes, asparagus and cauliflower ~supper can be carton veg soup, mexican pizza, bruchetta, crackers and cucumber & cheese, veg sticks dipped in peanut butter or salsa or a yogurt and a piece of fruit eg. mango, cherries, orange segments drink lots of water- with every meal, carry a bottle and try get 1.5l daily only snack on herbal tea eg. apple, ginger, chamomile no chips, biscuits, fizzy drinks, crisps, cereal bars, sweets, pastries, butter, fast food when changing your diet put thought into buying food to make eating healthy easier don't drink calories- soda, milk, fruit juice, tea and coffee |

You're probably losing weight when you're stressed, and dealing with a lost appetite, because some people aren't going to snack as much, thus cutting down on extra calories. And when you're stressed, your metabolism can increase for some people. Thus, lost weight. Starvation probably isn't the best way to go about it, but if you're keen on feeling hungry all the time cut the size of your meals in half, while keeping the ammount of physical excersise the same. That way you'll burn more calories than you're taking in, which is the basic rule of losing weight. I did go through a period of not eating myself, a while back. Lasted about 4-5 months. And yes it does help when you're trying to shed the pounds relatively quickly, but you're more prone to put that weight back on when you start eating again. Plus, you're hungry all the time, your stomach hurts, you feel weak, and hardly have energy to do anything and you feel tired. Plus your body isnt getting the nutrients it needs, so your fingernails are bound to get brittle and break and your hair will probably lose it's shine an lustre. Not to mention the skin of someone who hardly eats won't have the glow of someone who's eating healthy, and working out. Sweating is good for the skin. :) So try out not eating for a while. But if you find those hunger pangs aren't worth it, eat an apple, or banana as they've been proven to have a plethora of health benefits, and go for a jog. You'll feel better and you'll be toning your muscles at the same time. Instant beautification. :) |
