U really should c your own doctor who can help u rather than follow something that might not suit u. A dietician at your local hospital is also another good option.

I am at home recovering from open heart surgery,...I am also diabetic. I have had to make a HUGE change in my diet as I did not know I was diabetic until the heart attack. I am growing a new appreciation for raw spinach,(instead of iceberg lettuce), avocados and boiled eggs in the salad. Julienne carrots, very lean ham cubes, mushrooms, cauliflower, cherry tomatoes, and mild purple onions. For that late night snack I find regular crackers ad crunchy peanut butter very satisfying (not too many), the combination of protein and carbs holds the line on spiking sugars overnight. I am by no means an expert on diabetes and clearly have a lot to learn, but will have fun learning about what works. The biggest and most drastic change I have had to get used to is the total cutoff of fried food....yes that means NO McDonald's fries....dammit. To answer you question, the American Diabetes Association has recipes on their website and there is no shortage of diabetes-friendly foods all over the internet.... take care

The healthiest possible diet for a diabetic (or anyone, for that matter) is the simplest diet there is. The one that follows Mother Nature. That is to say, the closer you stick to natural foods, the easier your blood sugar will be to manage. The more refined products you eat, the worse your condition is most likely to become. I put the widest variety of raw vegetables I can think of in my salad. Radishes, field greens, quartered artichoke hearts, spinach, broccoli, turnip, zucchini, celery, red and green onions, garlic, tomato, lemon juice... you get the idea. Then, I top it off with olive oil and balsamic vinegar... yummie.
