Question: Does a detox do more harm than benefit?

In July I did a detox last year and I felt great...then I did one late August/ early September because I wanted to feel even better. But then my stomach started acting crazy so I don't know if that's from the detox or what. I had stomach issues before but not as bad I guess. I want to do one again but I don't know if I should.

Detoxes are the best thing to do for your body. if the one that made your stomach act wierd is a different one than the time before then that could be the reason. sometimes your stomach wont agree with every detox out there. andfor most people it is normal for your stomach to do wierd things. if you want better advice go to or call any GNC or vitamin shoppe store near you. they can help out a lot more tahn anyone on the internet. good luck!

Generally speaking, detoxes don't do much for your body in terms of "flushing toxins " or whatever today's marketing line is. You might lose weight because you're consuming dramatically fewer calories, but it's not sustainable, and you can also cause your body some serious damage if you spend too much time on it and don't get sufficient nutrients and vitamins. It's smarter to just adopt a healthy diet full of lean protein, vegetables, fruits and whole grains and skip the crash diets altogether.
